The One-Stop Employment Center provides free and easy access to a wide variety of employment resources.

  • Complimentary use of computers, printers, fax machines, phones and copiers
  • Resume building software.
  • Basic office software (Word)

  • Labor Market Information (LMI)
  • Basic skills and aptitude testing
  • Job postings and referrals
  • Job-related magazines and local newspapers

Services for Youth

The One-Stop Employment Center help young people get on the right track with job search, referral and placement assistance, interviewing, resume and other employability workshops, and job skill training. Career Counselors help with career planning and vocational assessment.

 

Job Corps
The mission of the Job Corps program is to help economically disadvantaged young adults between the ages of 16 to 24 become responsible, employable and productive citizens by providing them with opportunities to develop the vocational, educational and social skills needed to succeed. AmeriCorps
Devote a year of your life to AmeriCorps, and you’ll be serving your community through local improvement programs that benefit everyone. Job Shadowing
Job shadowing allows students to follow workplace mentors as they go through a normal day on the job. In other words – they work, you watch and learn how things are done.The National Job Shadow Coalition sponsors the annual Groundhog Job Shadow Day.Click here for more information on Groundhog Job Shadow Day and job shadowing opportunities in your area.

 

Florida National Guard Youth Challenge
The Florida Youth Challenge Academy program is a structured, quasi-military training and mentoring program for at-risk youth that develops the life skills, educational levels and employment potential of 16-18 year old high-school drop-outs /expellee or disenrollee.

Veterans Services

 

Veterans receive priority services at One-Stops, such as: job referrals, job development, referrals to training and supportive services, case management, labor market information, resume assistance and employability workshops. Click here to access your veterans representative. The e-VETS Resource Advisor assists veterans preparing to enter the job market. It includes information on a broad range of topics, such as job search tools and tips, employment openings, career assessment, education and training, and benefits and special services available to veterans.

Next Step To Success

An orientation session that identifies the services available through the One-Stop Employment Center, begins the eligibility process through application for additional services, and refers customers for appropriate assessment and training.

Resume Writing and Advanced Resume Writing

Hands-on assistance with creating a resume that clearly presents your knowledge, skills and abilities. With a focus on format, content and style, you'll learn how to use resume writing software to produce a professional product.

Dress for Success

Appropriate attire, hygiene, accessories, and wardrobe selection for all aspects of and activities in the work environment.

Self Esteem

Techniques to build self-confidence and a sense of self-worth. Secrets for using these skills in the job application process.

Interviewing Skills

Anticipate and respond to questions during job interviews. Learn how to identify appropriate questions and how to respond to appropriate questions.

Internet Job Search Training

Guidance on accessing Internet sites for job searches and resume writing. Post-workshop technical assistance is also available.

Employability Skills

This workshop explores the relationship between hard skills, soft skills, transferable skills and more. The workshop then relates being "Job Ready" and having the right "Attitude".

Letter Writing

Writing professional business letters that are clear, concise and correctly formatted. Grammar, vocabulary and appropriate content are emphasized.

Job Applications

A review of information frequently requested on job applications and help in developing appropriate responses.

Job Retention

 

Learn the skills and attitudes necessary to be a successful employee. Focus is on the skills an employer looks for, tools for effective relationships and the stages of adjustment in a new job.

Information Café

 

Your One-Stop Employment Centers house a comprehensive assortment of resources. From computers for resume/letter writing and Internet job search related activities, to educational and career planning books, to videos designed to help you hone your job success skills.

The Information Café contains over 500 volumes on a multitude of career related subjects. There are also valuable Resource Books, and a wide variety of video tapes for viewing.
