Some of the most common interview questions are:
- Tell us about yourself. If you spend forty-five minutes on this one, kiss this opportunity good-bye. Know what to say and how to say it in two minutes or less. Keep your answer professional, based on your accomplishments.
- What skills do you have for this position? If you take a sales approach to this question, you are the product. Identify your knowledge, skills, abilities, accomplishments and your personality.
- Why do you want to work for our company? Do your homework! Research the company and industry. Know needs and opportunities. Information is available through employer presentations, career fairs, business and government publications and the Internet.
- What are your strengths? (and your weaknesses) Consider what you've learned about this company and industry. Emphasize the skills and abilities you have, that best meet their needs.
- How do you handle pressure ? Emphasize organizational skills to eliminate stress or pressure . Prioritize your daily responsibilities. Get enough sleep and exercise. This is crucial to your well-being and ability to think clearly.
- How do you handle difficult situations or people? By making objectives, goals & responsibilities very clear you rarely encounter difficult situations or don't perceive them to be difficult.
- Describe the best job you ever had. Be prepared for this question ahead of time! Determine what you enjoyed most in your previous employment and consider the job description for this position, the job cannot be completely opposite of what you enjoy.
- What are your long-range goals? What goals have you set for yourself? Be realistic.
- How many miles do you live from this place of business? Do your homework! Know where the company is located and determine how long it will take you to get there. The potential employer wants to know you've made the decision to get there on time.
